First – thank you for subscribing and reading my blog. I really appreciate it and love to connect with other cyclists and share stories and ideas. It’s been a fun ride
Second – I’m ending the Biking France Blog. And have recently started a new one on Substack called Steve’s Stuff. It will be about cycling, but also other things. Hey, we’re all more than cyclists. We have other interests. We’re multi-dimensional men and women of the world who would all do well on Jeopardy.
Here’s the link to my latest Substack post. It’s all about cycling superstitions from 1896. They’re pretty funny. Do you have a cycling superstition? I described mine in the story. And here’s the link to an amazing Niagara Falls story. No bikes, just a barrel.
Why the switch?
Well, Substack is designed for former journalists/newspaper reporters – of which I am one. And it’s free whereas WordPress charges $96 a year, which means I’ve paid them almost $1,000 over the years. Enough already! There is a paid subscription option on Substack but my musings will always be free. I’ve been writing for 40-plus years and it’s become more than a habit. It’s my way of life. So, I’ll keep writing. And if anyone wants to read what I write – that’s great! The human connection – the peloton – is important.
I am in the midst of planning a fall cycling trip to the French Alps. So I hope you’ll consider subscribing to Steve’s Stuff. Like I said – free! And worth it.
Again, thanks for reading.
